Vegan Chicken Nuggets Recipe

Today we are making Vegan Chicken Nuggets Recipe using Tofu. Trust me guys these are too good to be true and I am going to show you how easy it is to prepare this incredible recipe with some simple steps.



Ingredients for Vegan Chicken Nuggets


Tofu - 500 Grams


Marinate for tofu

Oil - 1 Tablespoon

Soy Sauce - 3 Tablespoons

Turmeric Powder - 1/3rd Teaspoon

Curry Powder - 1 Teaspoon

Black Pepper Powder - Half Teaspoon

Red Chili Powder - 1/3rd Teaspoon

Nutritional Yeast - 3 Tablespoons

Salt - 1 Teaspoon or as per taste


All purpose Flour - 3 Tablespoons

Cornstarch - 2 Tablespoons

Salt - Half teaspoon

Black Pepper powder - half teaspoon



Bread Crumbs - 100 grams

Salt - Half teaspoon

Black Pepper powder - 1/3rd teaspoon

Curry Powder - half Teaspoon

Red chili Powder - 1/3rd teaspoon


Plant based milk as needed

1 tablespoon oil


Let’s get started


Step 1 :

Slice the Tofu in Nugget Shapes. I have taken this firm block of tofu and pressed it for 1 hour.


You can slice them in any way but I am going to slice them in nugget shape, you can even round the edges.


Step 2 :

Prepare the marinate for the tofu

To a big bowl, add 1 tablespoon of oil. 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1/3rd teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of curry powder, half teaspoon of black pepper powder 1/3rd teaspoon of red chili powder, 3 tablespoons of nutritional yeast. 1 teaspoon of salt or salt as per taste. Remember that soy sauce also has salt. Mix everything.

Add the tofu cubes to the marination paste

Coat the tofu cubes with the paste entirely, try to be gentle and also not break the tofu in the process.





Once the tofu is entirely coated let it marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes


Step 3

Let’s prep the breadcrumbs and all purpose flour


Take 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour, add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to it. I have also taken a bowl of breadcrumbs around 100 grams. Adding half teaspoon of salt to the all purpose flour bowl, half teaspoons of black pepper powder, mix everything.


Now to the breadcrumbs, add half teaspoon of salt, 1/3rd teaspoon of black pepper powder, half teaspoon of curry powder, 1/3rd teaspoon of red chili powder, mix everything



Step 4 :

Wrap the marinated tofu cubes in all purpose flour, milk and breadcrumbs respectively.

Place the tofu cube in the all purpose flour, roll it nicely.


Tap out the excess flour, place it in plant based milk, cover it and then place it in the breadcrumbs. Repeat the same for the rest of the tofu cubes.


Take a baking tray and line it with parchment paper. Then add around 1 teaspoon of oil and brush it evenly. Place the tofu cubes in the parchment paper with some distance apart.



Step 5 :

Bake the tofu over 180 C for 35-40 minutes and flipping them mid way. Then take them out and serve hot.



I am serving them with some ketchup and vegan mayonnaise.
