Peanut Masala & Peanut Chaat Perfection - Crispy, Tangy, and Irresistibly Spicy

Get ready to spice up your snack game with two iconic Indian street food favorites – peanut masala and peanut chaat! 


Made with roasted or fried peanuts, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, fresh coriander, and a generous squeeze of lemon juice, these crunchy delights are bursting with flavor, texture, and zing in every bite.

Ingredients 

Oil - 1 Tablespoon

Asafoetida- 1/8th Teaspoon

Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Teaspoon

Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp

Red Chili Powder - half Teaspoon 

Peanuts - 500 grams

Salt - half Teaspoon 


Peanut Chaat 

Onion - 100 grams

Tomato - 100 grams

Green Chili - 1 

Cilantro - As needed

Lime Juice from half a lime 



Recipe:

  1. Heat a pan and keep it on low heat.

  2. Then add oil, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and cook the spices over low heat so they don’t burn

  3. After 2-3 minutes, add peanuts, followed by salt, and mix well

  4. Coat the peanuts well with the spices for 4-5 minutes while cooking on a low flame

  5. The Masala Peanut is ready. Transfer the peanuts to cool down in a larger open pan

  6. Once they are at room temperature, you can store them in an airtight container 

  7. Now for our peanut chat, add the masala peanuts, finely chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, cilantro, green chili, and a generous squeeze of lime juice in a fresh bowl.



  8. Mix everything and serve.
