These easy baked Vegan Mushroom Puffs are definitely a party hit. They are quick to assemble and can be done in a jiffy. You can always use the stuff you have at hand and use other vegetables too.
Ingredients
Spinach - 35g
Parsley - 35g
Mushroom - 300g
Garlic - 6 cloves
Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
Vegan cheese - 400g
Chili - 1
Black Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Oregano - 1 tsp
Salt(optional) - half tsp
Sesame Seeds as needed
Pastry Sheet as needed
Steps
1) To prepare the stuffing, start by adding chopped Spinach, parsley, roughly chopped mushroom, vegan cheese, chili, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper powder & oregano in a bowl. Mix well. I love this recipe as you can use the ingredients you like and you don’t have to double cook anything.
2) Slice the ready made pastry dough sheet into rectangles
3) Add the stuffing to the individual pastry sheet
4) Fold the pastry in a way that the stuffing doesn't come out. I am going for a hexagon shape but you can try any other shape of your liking, you can use some water or plant based milk to seal the edges
5) Brush the puffs with plant based milk or if you have Vegan butter or shortening that’s a good alternative too
6) Sprinkle sesame seeds, this is optional but I like the taste of sesame seeds on baked goods
7) Place the puff on a baking tray, you can lightly add some dry flour to the pastry sheets doesn’t stick to the parchment paper
8) Bake for 20 mins over 200 C in a preheated oven
And there we go, the Crispy and Creamy Mushroom Puff pastries are ready. Serve them hot and try them in your next event or house party, I am sure everyone would love them. You can always play with the stuffing, if you are not a mushroom fan, you can replace it with boiled potatoes, tofu or even beans, and it will still be amazing
